     Elsie Beiler

Elsie Beiler was born and raised in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.  She has lived in the rural Paradise area since she was 4 years old.  As a child, she enjoyed art and used chalk to create colorful pictures.  By the age of 13, Elsie was given her first set of oil paints.

As Elsie and her husband Paul raised their 5 children , later enjoying their 10 grandchildren, she found many ways to share her creativity.  She taught women’s fellowship groups with the Mennonite church, did home decorating and loved bringing flowers and fruit in from the garden to preserve and dry. Elsie greatly enjoyed the color and interest this brought to their home.

At age 58, Elsie once again brought out her brush and paints, painting flower gardens, seascapes and scenes from their small sheep farm.  With tremendous encouragement from her family and friends, Elsie and Paul established Meadow Lane Designs, a small home business and studio displaying her art.

Helping children (“especially her grandest ones!”) discover their abilities to create with pencils, crayons or paint and brush is a recent challenge that Elsie has taken on.  She teaches art class for those being home schooled.  Elsie expresses,” I am forever grateful to our Creator, Father God, who is the designer of unending beauty which He so freely shares with us!

A personal note from Elsie on “The Girl at the Window” painting:

As I painted the picture,”The Girl at the Window”,  I was impressed to pray for women caught in the darkness of sex trafficking that need to be brought to the light of Jesus.  The light of North Star is there shining brightly to bring Hope to those dark places- freedom ad healing to lives in bondage and pain.

I am happy to share this painting to help bring to the light the story of many, like “The Girl at the Window” who are forgotten, abandoned, in need of a voice and restoration.
